Harvest: The grapes were harvested from select growers in upstate New York. The harvest in New York State followed a warm dry summer which allowed for the fruit to ripen fully.
Technical: The grapes were harvested quite ripe with sugar levels averaging 20 degrees Brix. 3.18 pH, and .65 g/100 ml acidity, Bottled 900 cases between June 14 and July 2, 2004, residual sugar 2%, alcohol 11% by volume.
Description: This is Blacksmiths' classic Vidal Blanc, light and refreshing for summer, with a hint of sweetness to balance its crisp, clean acidity. This wine has fresh fruit flavors of citrus, peach, strawberry and kiwifruit. It pairs perfectly with tropical salsas, spicy foods, salmon, scallops and Maine lobster.
