Charitable Contributions
In 2006 Blacksmiths Winery supported the following charities:
- Casco Days
- Maine Alliance for Arts Education
- Spurwink Institute
- Casco Library
- Loon Echo Trust
- Vendretti Club
- St. Lukes Church
- Naples Library
- International Myeloma Foundation
These organizations met our corporate giving policy which includes:
- The organization must use at least 95% of donation for the specified mission, not salaries or fund raising
- Local organizations have priority
- The mission should not influence or impact individuals of non-drinking age
- The mission should meet a need, not just further an organization
- Assisting needy individuals or animals take priority
- Executive Director cannot make over $100,000/yr
- We cannot donate wine as specified by Maine law
